On Wednesday, Portugal celebrated 38 years since the April 25 1974 Revolution, which changed the Portuguese regime from a dictatorship (Salazar’s Estado Novo) into a democracy.
Various events took place across Portugal with the usual official speeches by the President of the Republic and Prime Minister, distribution of carnations, parades, hoisted flags and music and theatre performances.
