Lagoa badminton star Pedro Martins looks certain to qualify for the London Olympics after reaching the last 16 of the Grand Prix Swiss Open. The 22-year-old saw off both American Bjorn Seguin and Indian world No25 Ajay Jayaram in straight sets before going down 21-19, 13-21, 10-21 to top rated Daren Liew from Malaysia. Martins and Che Lagoense team mate Telma Santos will participate in the sport’s European Championships in Sweden held between April 16 and 20.
