Australia and Egypt have become the latest countries to put forward their official candidature to stage the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup finals.
At the close of Monday’s deadline the number of hopefuls to succeed South Africa (2010) and Brazil (2014) thus rose to eleven, the remaining aspirants comprising England, Portugal/Spain, Belgium/Holland, Indonesia, Japan, Qatar, Mexico, Russia and the United States.
